About Chanel

Chanel is a passionate advocate for women living empowered, whole, and purpose-filled lives. A devoted mother and grandmother, Chanel's journey has been anything but ordinary. 

Having become a mother by the age of sixteen, she has overcome tremendous adversity, including multiple teen pregnancies, dropping out of high school, homelessness, abusive relationships, and even being involuntarily involved in a bank robbery that became the catalyst for a life-changing transformation. What once appeared to be a series of painful setbacks would ultimately become the foundation of her purpose and ministry to teenage girls and women from all walks of life.

A natural leader from an early age, Chanel often found herself leading neighborhood children while growing up on the southeast side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Unbeknownst to her at the time, her leadership gifts were already being developed. Amid a challenging upbringing, she discovered refuge in books and journaling, early indicators of the writer, speaker, and encourager she would eventually become.

Years later, Chanel would go on to author several books, including She's Not Like Me, Promiscuous Girl, and Simply Becoming. Through her writing and public speaking, she shares the lessons, healing, and wisdom gained from her personal experiences. After years of struggling with shame, rejection, and self-acceptance, she found healing, confidence, and freedom through faith, self-discovery, and embracing her story.

Having navigated some of life's most difficult seasons, including divorce and surviving an abusive relationship that nearly cost her life, Chanel has emerged as a beacon of hope, resilience, and transformation. As a mentor, author, speaker, and encourager, she is committed to helping women recognize their value, embrace their God-given identity, and walk boldly in purpose.

Chanel firmly believes that God wastes nothing. Every challenge, setback, and victory can be used to strengthen, teach, and inspire others. Her mission is to help women own their stories without shame, honor who they are, heal from the wounds of their past, and become everything God created them to be.

Today, Chanel continues to inspire others to live with courage, confidence, and authenticity, proving that even the most difficult chapters can lead to a life of purpose, impact, and true freedom.
